LiqTech launches QureFlow Max for large-scale produced-water reuse

LiqTech International Inc. has introduced the QureFlow™ Max, the largest configuration within its QureFlow™ produced-water treatment platform. The system was launched at the 36th Annual Produced Water Society Conference in Sugar Land, Texas, reinforcing the company’s focus on large-scale reuse applications in upstream oil and gas operations.

QureFlow Max is engineered for high-volume, uptime-critical environments where conventional treatment systems often struggle with feed variability, oil spikes and fouling. Positioned as a core oil and suspended-solids removal solution, the system supports reuse strategies and serves as pretreatment ahead of desalination when required. It does not perform desalination, instead addressing the separation layer where produced-water reuse projects most frequently encounter operational bottlenecks.

High throughput for reuse-focused operations
Designed for large-scale deployment, QureFlow™ Max is available in skid-based configurations with four or six installed membrane vessels per skid. Each skid delivers feed capacities of 80–120 m³/h (approximately 350–530 gpm or 12,000–18,000 barrels of water per day), supporting reuse scenarios where stability and throughput are essential.

The system is built on LiqTech’s silicon carbide ceramic membrane technology, offering high chemical resistance, mechanical strength and durability under harsh produced-water conditions. It is suited for streams characterised by:

  • High total dissolved solids (TDS)
  • Elevated temperatures
  • Variable oil concentrations
  • Fouling-prone feed streams

These characteristics make it particularly relevant for North American reuse-focused oilfield operations.

Consistent separation under variable conditions
According to LiqTech, field validation data from North American sites demonstrates the system’s ability to remove more than 99% of oil and suspended solids, maintaining stable performance despite fluctuations in oil concentration, chemistry, temperature and flow.

The system is engineered for modular deployment and automated operation, with remote control capabilities and availability in unclassified or ATEX Zone 2 / C1D2 configurations. QureFlow™ Max is designed to integrate into existing produced-water infrastructure without requiring changes to upstream or downstream processes.

Supporting reuse and pretreatment strategies
In reuse loops such as hydraulic fracturing, QureFlow™ Max can function as the primary treatment step when clear brine quality is sufficient. In other applications, it acts as a pretreatment layer ahead of desalination technologies, protecting downstream systems and helping maintain uptime.

By focusing on the oil and solids removal stage, LiqTech positions QureFlow™ Max as a technology-led solution addressing one of the most critical operational challenges in produced-water reuse—achieving consistent separation performance under real-world, unstable feed conditions.
